APC Chieftain Odukoya Adeyinka Sefiu Resigns, Cites Failed Promises and Unfair Treatment.
A long-standing member of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Chief Odukoya Adeyinka Sefiu, has formally withdrawn his membership from the party, citing loss of trust, unfulfilled promises, and what he described as “unfair treatment” by the party leadership.
In a letter dated November 20, 2025, and addressed to the APC Lagos State Chairman through local ward leaders Alhaji Adeleke Abayomi and Olalekan Arepo who are the chairmen of ward M2 Alimosho LGA and ward G LASIEC respectively.
Odukoya stated that he had been committed to the progressive bloc since 1998, beginning with the Alliance for Democracy (AD).
Odukoya highlighted his long years of service, stressing that he had consistently contributed his resources, time, and energy to the party without seeking personal gain.
He reminded party leaders that he served as coordinator of the All Lagos State House of Assembly Aspirants in the 2023 election (LAHAA ’23) and had previously contested for the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2015, 2019, and 2023.
According to him, his decision to resign stemmed from what he described as the party’s failure to reward loyalty, persistent unfulfilled promises, and the denial of appointments to members of LAHAA ’23 despite their contributions to the last general election.
“I lost trust in your party reward system and compensation for loyalty, after the failed promises from the party leadership and the denial of appointment for none of LAHAA ’23 members,” he wrote. “My spirit can no longer tolerate this unfair treatment.”
The letter, which was acknowledged by ward leaders on November 25, 2025, marks the official end of Odukoya’s decades-long affiliation with the ruling party.
Odukoya concluded by stating that he has chosen to “move on” with his life outside the APC.
