Ọmọlúwàbí Stakeholders Pay Courtesy Visit to Aregbesola, Reaffirm Loyalty to ADC Ideals
Stakeholders of the Ọmọlúwàbí political caucus, a support group within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Lagos State Chapter, have paid a courtesy visit to the party’s National Secretary and former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, reaffirming their loyalty and commitment to his political vision.
The visit, which brought together key leaders and members of the caucus from across Lagos State, was aimed at formally introducing the Ọmọlúwàbí group to their political principal and strengthening ties within the ADC family.
Speaking at the meeting, the State Chairman of Ọmọlúwàbí, Hon. Rilwan, formally presented members of the caucus to Ogbeni Aregbesola. He expressed profound appreciation for the confidence members have reposed in the ADC and in Aregbesola’s leadership, describing the former governor as a source of inspiration and political guidance.
Hon. Rilwan also acknowledged the encouragement and support the group has continued to receive from the national leadership of the ADC, particularly from Ogbeni Aregbesola, even before the group had the opportunity to officially meet with him. According to him, such support has strengthened the resolve of members to remain steadfast in the party’s ideals.
In his remarks, Hon. Olusola Okiki, a prominent leader within the caucus, commended members for their unwavering commitment and unique contributions to the growth of Ọmọlúwàbí in Lagos State. He praised their dedication to grassroots mobilisation and their role in strengthening the structural foundation of the Lagos Chapter of the caucus.
Also speaking, Hon. Teju Ismaeel expressed appreciation to members for turning out in large numbers for the visit. He emphasized the importance of collective responsibility and unity, urging members to continue working together to expand the influence of Ọmọlúwàbí across Lagos State. According to him, unity remains the strongest tool for political relevance and success.
Similarly, Hon. Ibrahim Morrocco charged members to take the message and ideals of Ọmọlúwàbí to all federal constituencies within the state. He assured Ogbeni Aregbesola of the sincerity, loyalty, and commitment of the caucus members to his political cause, noting that their support is driven by conviction rather than convenience.
The Secretary of the group, Hon. Olufemi Obakoya, delivered an emotional address in which he praised Ogbeni Aregbesola for what he described as his deep love for the Nigerian people, especially the ordinary citizens. He commended the former governor for his courage and determination in breaking away from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to align with a new political movement under the ADC, which he said represents hope for a better Nigeria.
Hon. Obakoya stated that the visit was primarily to formally introduce members of the caucus to Ogbeni Aregbesola and to openly declare their trust, confidence, and belief in his style of politics. He assured him of the group’s unwavering and continuous support.
Adding a personal note, Chief Mrs.Ewumi from Ifako-Ijaiye expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to finally meet Ogbeni Aregbesola, whom she described as a leader she had long admired from afar. She offered prayers for his long life and continued strength in service to the nation.
In his closing remarks, Ọjọgbọn Gideon thanked Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for warmly receiving the delegation in his home and for his exemplary leadership over the years. He reaffirmed the total support of Ọmọlúwàbí stakeholders, assuring the ADC leader of their loyalty and readiness to stand with him at all times.
The visit further underscored the growing momentum within the ADC in Lagos State and the increasing alignment of grassroots political groups with the leadership and reform-driven ideology of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
