Princess Oyefusi Advises Nigerian Government on Ending Terrorism, Citing Kebbi Girls Kidnapping as a Wake-Up Call




In a recent back to back posts on her Instagram page, Princess Abiodun Islamiat Oyefusi,a vibrant grassroots politician in Lagos has urged the Nigerian federal government to adopt a holistic strategy to eradicate terrorism, citing the recent Kebbi girls kidnapping as a stark reminder of the urgent need for action.

The former Labour Party deputy governor candidate emphasized that beyond military measures, Nigeria must tackle the root causes of terrorism—such as poverty, lack of education, and marginalization. Princess Oyefusi stated, "The kidnapping of the Kebbi girls underscores how vulnerable our communities remain to insurgent and criminal groups. We must address the socio-economic factors fueling these acts of terror."

Princess Oyefusi also stressed the significance of fostering unity and resilience among Nigeria’s diverse populations, as well as enhancing cooperation with neighbouring countries to curb cross-border insurgencies

Her advice includes increasing investment in education, youth empowerment programs, and regional development initiatives that provide alternative opportunities for youths. She also called for improved intelligence sharing and stronger community engagement to build trust and resilience in affected areas.

Princess Abiodun highlighted that regional cooperation is vital, especially given the cross-border nature of insurgency groups. She urged the government to work closely with neighbouring countries to enhance border security and intelligence networks.
