Security Operatives Intercept Over 500 Travelers Heading to Adamawa, Escort Them Out of State

More than 500 travelers from Niger Republic and parts of northern Nigeria were intercepted on their way into Adamawa State and later escorted out over security concerns.

The travelers, conveyed in two trailers with registration numbers NNY 236 XA (Yobe) and GAS 330 XA (Taraba), were stopped by security personnel at the Numan Bridge. Authorities said approximately 550 passengers were onboard.

According to eyewitnesses, about half of the group originated from Maradi, Niger Republic, while the others were from Yobe and Katsina States. The travelers were reportedly unable to provide a clear explanation for their mass movement, raising suspicion among security agencies.

A combined team of Immigration officials, Police, and Military personnel subsequently escorted the group back to the Adamawa–Gombe border, directing them to return to their points of departure pending further investigations.
