ADC Governorship Candidate Najeem Salaam Felicitates Prince Oyinlola at 75
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Osun State in the 2026 election, Dr. Najeem Folasayo Salaam (PhD), has congratulated former Governor of Osun State and elder statesman, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, on his 75th birthday.
In a congratulatory message released on Monday, Dr. Salaam described Prince Oyinlola as a distinguished leader whose life of service has left lasting impacts on Osun State and Nigeria at large.
He commended the former governor’s decades of contribution to national development, noting his service in the Nigerian Army, his role in military administration, and his tenure as civilian governor of Osun State between 2003 and 2010.
According to Salaam, Prince Oyinlola’s leadership journey—rooted in royal heritage and strengthened by military discipline—has continued to inspire generations of leaders and citizens across the state.
“Prince Oyinlola’s contributions to governance, peace, stability, and community development remain a reference point in Osun State’s political history,” Salaam said, adding that his legacy of service continues to resonate beyond the state.
The ADC governorship candidate prayed for continued good health, wisdom, and strength for the celebrant, expressing hope that the new year would bring him peace and fulfillment.
Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola was born on February 3, 1951, in Okuku, Osun State, into a royal family. He retired as a Brigadier General in the Nigerian Army before venturing into politics. Activities marking his 75th birthday include a golf tournament organised by the Ileogbo Golf and Resort, with eminent personalities and associates in attendance.
