ADC Lagos Disowns Alleged ‘South West Secretariat’ Fundraising Message
The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Lagos State Chapter, has distanced itself from a viral social media message alleging that certain individuals made financial contributions toward a purported “South West Secretariat” and urging members of the public to contact a named individual for support.
In an official disclaimer issued on behalf of the party, the Lagos State Secretary, Comrade Festus Duru, described the publication as fraudulent, misleading, and unauthorized.
According to the statement, the message did not emanate from the Lagos State Chapter of the ADC and was neither issued nor approved by the State Chairman, the State Secretary, nor any recognized organ of the party in Lagos State.
“The Lagos State Chapter of ADC dissociates itself completely from the content of the said message and from the individuals responsible for its circulation,” the statement read, warning that those behind the publication are not acting on behalf of the party.
The party further cautioned members, supporters, and the general public to disregard the message entirely and to avoid making any financial commitments based on the false claims. It advised that all inquiries or intended support for the party should be channelled strictly through its officially recognized communication platforms.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability, and lawful political engagement, ADC Lagos State stressed that it would not condone impersonation, misinformation, or any attempt to exploit the party’s name for fraudulent purposes.
The chapter reiterated that it remains united and focused on its progressive mission.

State Secretary, ADC Lagos State
