Balogun Showcases Infrastructure Record in Epe, Unveils 2027–2035 Lagos Master Plan

A Lagos governorship aspirant, Dr Naheem Abiodun Balogun, has highlighted his infrastructure achievements in Epe, declaring that his track record proves he is prepared to replicate similar results across Lagos State.
Speaking on his development strides, Balogun said his administration in Epe focused on practical, community-driven solutions, including the construction of multiple culverts, the opening and rehabilitation of community roads, and flood reduction initiatives that improved mobility within the area.

“I don’t just talk infrastructure — I deliver it,” he stated, emphasizing that the successes recorded in Epe demonstrate capacity for statewide transformation. “If it works in Epe, it can work across Lagos. Local impact proves statewide capability.”

A Data-Driven Master Plan for Lagos
Balogun also unveiled his Lagos Master Plan (2027–2035), describing it as a data-driven, people-first blueprint designed to build a smarter economy, a safer Lagos, and a more liveable city over the next eight years.

Pillar One: Smart Economy and Jobs
Under his economic agenda, the aspirant targets the creation of one million new jobs within four years through youth employment and skills development programmes, MSME grants and tax reforms, the establishment of a Lagos Digital Marketplace, and industrial revitalization initiatives.

Pillar Two: Security and Public Safety
Balogun pledged to prioritize security, noting that “a safe Lagos is a productive Lagos.” His plan includes smart surveillance and AI-powered systems, strengthened community policing, cybercrime prevention strategies, and modern traffic enforcement. He projects a 40 percent reduction in crime within three years.

Pillar Three: Transport and Infrastructure
To tackle congestion and urban disorder, Balogun proposed an integrated transport system combining BRT, rail, and water transport, alongside road upgrades with improved drainage, smart traffic lights, and urban renewal projects aimed at ending chaos and moving Lagos forward.

Pillar Four: Education and Technology
On education, he promised ICT-enabled classrooms, CBT centres for national examinations, the creation of a Lagos Tech Corps, and expanded community outreach programmes to prepare young Lagosians for the future.

Housing, Environment and Governance
Balogun’s housing and environmental policies focus on affordable housing schemes, expanded flood control and drainage systems, waste-to-energy projects, and a Green Lagos Initiative aimed at building a clean and climate-resilient state.
In governance, he pledged transparency and accountability through e-government portals, open budgeting, zero tolerance for corruption, monthly town hall meetings, and greater youth inclusion in governance.

Leadership Built on Integrity
Highlighting his values, Balogun listed integrity, accountability, innovation, equity, compassion, service, and excellence as the guiding principles of his leadership philosophy.
“I restored light where there was darkness. I empowered youths where there was hopelessness. I built roads where there were barriers. Now together, we will build a Lagos that works for everyone,” he said.

With the slogan “People First, Lagos for All,” Balogun maintained that tested leadership, global expertise, and proven delivery position him as a credible candidate ready to lead Lagos into a new era of inclusive growth.
