Unity, Loyalty, Mobilisation: Ashiru Sets Agenda for ADC Victory In Lagos
The Lagos State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), George Ashiru, has called on party members in Alimosho Local Government to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday 22nd of Feburary 2026 in Alimosho, Ashiru stressed that electoral malpractice becomes easier when citizens fail to participate in the electoral roll process. He urged members not to take voter registration and mobilisation lightly, noting that active participation remains the strongest safeguard for credible elections.
Addressing party leaders and key political stakeholders in the area, Ashiru charged them to begin immediate grassroots engagement without further delay, emphasizing that the election season is fast approaching.
“What I want is for us to go and win,” he insisted.
The chairman advised leaders to avoid distractions, rumours, and internal conflicts that could weaken the party’s structure. He cautioned against in-house fighting and urged members to remain focused on the larger political objective — challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls.
Ashiru described the current moment as a critical time for unity and strategic action. According to him, party members must prioritize essential political activities over personal interests and minor disagreements.
“We have many people waiting for us to campaign to them. We must take our strength to the grassroots and draw from our past political experiences,” he said.
He further enjoined leaders to demonstrate unwavering loyalty to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), noting that discipline and commitment are necessary for building a well-organized and formidable party structure.
In his concluding remarks, Ashiru urged members to put aside personal tendencies and face the coming elections as a united front under the ADC banner. He emphasized the importance of competence, stating that the best individuals must be placed in appropriate positions to ensure electoral success.
The meeting ended with a renewed call for unity, strategic mobilisation, and determination to secure victory in the forthcoming elections.
